Creating A Customized B'Elanna Action Figure
Playmates never made a 9" B'Elanna Star Trek action figure. So I needed to create one for my lonely Tom Paris.
Base of my B'Elanna are the original 9" Star Trek Playmates action figures.
I created B'Elanna's face by the use of FIMO SOFT while watching a few screenshots. The material gets hard by heating it in the oven.
The head I made in two halfs, so glueing them together by the help of two component epoxy glue, the head fits well around the neck joint.
Now B'Elanna can turn her head like every "normal" Playmates doll.
I colored her face using high quality acrylic color (MARABU).
Colorless semi-glossy FIMO varnish protects the paint.
For the body I got a female Star Trek model (Jadzia Dax) and the uniform is "sponsored" by Tuvok.
Of course, the uniform needed to be changed a little bit to fit the slimmer female body and also the rank pins had to be changed into the rank bar of the former Maquis (golden permanent marker/acrylic color).
Special thanks to my friend Sharon who helped me to get Tuvok. I could order him on ebay.com and she undressed him and sent me his uniform over to Europe. So I could save a lot of money.
Tom as well as Kathryn and Chakotay were supervising the making of on the "holodeck".
The Paris-Torres family became completed by Miral. She is a customized GRAND CHAMPIONS doll. I used WINDOWCOLOUR for making her ridges.

Customizing A Captain Janeway Action Figure
My first Captain Janeway 9" Playmates action figure was already a short haired custom made one by an unknown artist.
Even when I loved this Janeway with short hair I wasn't really happy with my doll's stiff helmet-like hairdo.
Finally I dared to be a hairdresser myself.
Base of my customized Captain Kathryn Janeway is the 9" Star Trek Playmates Action Figure.
Kathryn Janeway's new hairdo I created by using HEMPEL Epoxy Filler. This two component filler is special made for repairing boats and yachts.
Its high viscosity and slow hardening within a few hours made it suitable for my purpose.
After sanding the new hairdo got "dyed" with high quality acrylic colors by MARABU.
Colorless semi-glossy FIMO varnish protects the paint.
